Danny Granger: We Played Like a Bunch of B****es, Got Our A** Kicked

Pacers forward Danny Granger is a sharpshooter on the court, and a straight shooter off of it. Asked to explain his team’s 115-109 overtime loss to the Pistons Wednesday night, Granger didn’t hold back.

Granger stated after the loss “Frankly, we played like a bunch of b******. That’s what happens — you get your a** kicked.” Asked what went wrong, Granger said “I don’t know, sometimes teams have a tendency to be on a vacation already when you still have a game to play and we fell into the trap — got our a** kicked.”

The Pacers had won 7 of 8 under new coach Frank Vogel until losing back-to-back games Tuesday and Wednesday night. The team is now 7-3 under Vogel and 24-30 overall, good enough for the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

I’m not sure how much I agree with Granger’s assessment of the team’s performance considering they came back from a big deficit to tie things up. For a team that packed it up by trailing the entire game, they sure did a nice job closing out the 4th quarter. Still, you can’t argue with the passion of a team leader like that.

Here’s the audio of Granger post-game in case you want to hear it (language somewhat NSFW):
