Baseball, Seth Smith

Seth Smith was trending on Twitter and had no idea what that meant

A’s DH Seth Smith was one of the heroes in Oakland’s comeback win over the Detroit Tigers in Game 4 on Wednesday night. The DH’s two-run double tied the game at three, and apparently was enough to get his name trending on Twitter.

McCarthy shared the screen shot you see above of a text message received from Smith via his Twitter account. It must be odd for McCarthy’s 89,000 followers to learn that someone doesn’t know what it means to be “trending,” but nobody will hold that against Smith.

If Smith ever decides to get involved with Twitter, McCarthy would be an excellent person to learn from.
