I agree with you all they way around on that one, Jeff. That bad start you mentioned killed them and they did start to play better towards the end. Thing is their pitching is very suspect and all their injuries aren’t helping at all. Last year a lot of their guys didn’t hit to start the season because they were bothered by the cold weather. If that happens again they’ll be behind the eight ball once again and will be out of the race quickly.

I actually think Detroit will be good this year. I think last year was a total fluke, and honestly, I think all the pressure on them that they were picked to win the entire thing didn’t help them at all. Once they got over the hump of the first few months, they turned it on, but it was too late by then. Jim Leyland is too good a coach to let last year happen again. He’s still one of the best in the Majors. Sure their pitching is a little suspect, but their bats will more than make up for it.

In defense of Inge, 3B is his best position, he’s one of the top def 3B in the league. It’s his .240 BA that sucks whatever position he plays.
