Isiah – Get out of the Kitchen

Isiah Thomas

Just like Clemson losing, it’s always a good thing in sports when the Knicks lose cuz you don’t hear much out of New York from November to April. Seriously.  It’s not like they have collegiate teams or anything.  The only downside unfortunately is that nothing can make Yankee fans more staunch than watching their beloved Knicks lose for 6 months solid.

Saturday night in Utah, the Knicks endured a difficult loss, blowing a 10 point lead with just under 5 minutes left in the game, losing 104-102 in overtime.  The setup to this loss was a sight of beauty; the Knicks were one win away from matching their win total of last year (23) and nothing could have made Isiah more proud than to surpass Larry Brown so early in the season.  Unfortunately for Isiah, the embarrassment of last night outweighed the positives the Knicks would have gained from reaching the big two-three.  Here’s what happened. Late in OT, Isiah Thomas was led to

Throw a temper tantrum on the sidelines after David Lee got called for a silly technical foul with 1:52 left in OT. The Jazz scored the first five points of overtime, but when Lee soared in for a dunk to cut it to 99-97, he touched his arm, looking at the referee for a foul call.  Instead he got a T.  Thomas exploded on the sidelines, jumping up and down in a rage, his arms waving wildly.  He needed to be restrained by Quentin Richardson.

That’s awesome.

But it gets better after the game,

A fuming Thomas would not take questions afterward. He stormed into his post-game press briefing and said, “Hey, this is going to be real quick fellas. I have absolutely no comment on tonight’s game.”  And Thomas marched off, still seething at the technical on Lee, but probably also ticked that his Knicks committed 22 turnovers, a number he scrawled on the locker-room blackboard afterward.

Seems like it’s getting too hot in that kitchen Isiah.  How about a suggestion – get out.  Actually, let me take that back.  Stay, keep throwing tantrums, let the team sputter into a tailspin, and then when the Yankees fail to win the World Series AGAIN, it will be even prettier.
