Stephen Curry wins MVP, called ‘most humble superstar’ by teammate

Stephen Curry

News leaked on Sunday evening that Stephen Curry had won NBA MVP, making him the first player in Golden State Warriors history to win the award. By taking home league MVP, Curry beat out James Harden, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, among other incredible players for the honor.

Though I slightly leaned towards Harden in the debate, Curry absolutely deserves the award and I’m quite happy he won. He was the best player on the best team … and better yet, he is one of the most enjoyable players in the entire league. It’s nice to see a stud like that get rewarded with the league’s highest honor.

Just to give you an idea of what kind of guy he is, Curry received congratulatory tweets from a few teammates including Harrison Barnes, who called him the “most humble superstar” he’s ever been around.

Curry averaged 23.8 points per game on 48.7 percent shooting from the field, 44.3 percent from 3-point range, 91.4 percent from the line, in addition to 7.7 assists and two steals per game. Curry’s 91.4 percent from the line led the league, and he also broke his previous record for 3-point shots made in a season with 286.

Thank you for giving the fans such a brilliant season, Steph. You’re a deserving MVP and it’s been a pleasure watching you develop from a 3-star recruit with limited college interest into one of the best players in the world.
