Jameis Winston reportedly given citation for stealing crab legs

Jameis WinstonJameis Winston was reportedly issued a citation on Tuesday for trying to steal crab legs from a Publix supermarket in Florida. According to Tomahawk Nation, Tallahassee Police cited Winston for shoplifting and he was not arrested.

“He got an adult civil citation,” a Tallahassee Police source told the SB Nation site. “If he completes the sanctions it will never show up on his record. They commonly give them to juveniles on first criminal offenses. They are now doing it for minor misdemeanors for adults to lower crime rate”

Arrested or not, this obviously isn’t good for the star quarterback’s image. We all know about the sexual assault accusations that were hurled against Winston last year.

Earlier this month, the New York Times released a lengthy report detailing how incompetent the Tallahassee Police Department was in investigating the Winston case. We also learned that a second woman “sought counseling” at one point after an alleged sexual encounter with Winston.

Crab legs from a supermarket? Come on, man. Given the fact that the NCAA just passed a rule that allows student athletes to enjoy unlimited snacks and meals, this makes even less sense. Winston really needs to get it together.
