      FYI, the sign was in response to UCI’s coach’s comments when comparing Nebraska fans to LSU fans:

      “They’re not on you, and they’re not rude and they’re not vicious and they know the Civil War is over and they know how to act,” Gillespie said.

      Whether or not that makes the sign ok is debatable, but its not like LSU fans just brought up the Civil War for no reason.
