Cowboys reportedly were partying at club before fatal car crash
Several Dallas Cowboys players reportedly were out partying at a club the night of the fatal car crash that killed practice squad player Jerry Brown.
FOX Sports Southwest says Brown and Josh Brent (pictured), who was driving the car, joined about a dozen teammates at Dallas club Privae on Friday. Comedian Shawn Wayans was performing that night.
Dallas media members Richie Whitt and Rebecca Lopez both said the players were partying. A tweet shared by the club’s official Twitter account also said the Cowboys were there.
The players went from partying and hanging out to having two of their teammates involved in a fatal crash a few hours later. It’s incredible how quickly life can change.
Brent, who is in jail and being charged for intoxicated manslaughter, sent out the following statement through his agent:
“I am devastated and filled with grief. Filled with grief for the loss of my close friend and teammate, Jerry Brown. I am also grief-stricken for his family, friends and all who were blessed enough to have known him. I will live with this horrific and tragic loss every day for the rest of my life. My prayers are with his family, our teammates and his friends at this time.”
