Mike Evans asked for touchdown, so Jameis Winston gave it to him
Jameis Winston led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a sweet comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, and the story of how Mike Evans got the winning touchdown is a good one.
Winston explained after the 23-19 win that he asked in the huddle who wanted the game-winning touchdown during their final drive. Evans eagerly spoke up to claim it. Ask, and ye shall receive.
With 1:39 left in the game, Winston completed a 6-yard touchdown pass to Evans on 3rd-and-4 to take the lead.
Here’s Winston recalling the story:

Winston threw for that touchdown and rushed for another, while Evans caught five passes for 61 yards including the score. Sometimes having a positive mentality like that really makes a big difference when it comes to performing on the field. Of course, that’s no surprise given that we’ve heard for a while that Winston’s leadership is off the charts.
