Lindsey Vonn says she trusts Tiger Woods will not cheat on her

Lindsey Vonn Tiger WoodsTiger Woods does not exactly have the best track record when it comes to being faithful in a relationship. Let’s not sugarcoat it — the guy is pretty much the most infamous serial cheater in sports history. Despite that, he and Lindsey Vonn have been in a seemingly happy relationship for several months now. Isn’t Vonn worried that Tiger will stray from the nest?

Believe it or not, C.J. of the Minneapolis Star Tribune actually came out and asked Vonn if she trusts that Woods has been faithful to her.

“Ah, I don’t know,” the Olympic gold medalist replied. “That’s kind of a weird question. But, aah, I mean, you have to trust the person that you’re with and we’re happy and that’s all.”

C.J. noted that the interview awkwardly ended right after that question, so it doesn’t sound like Vonn appreciated it. She already admitted before that she is happy being in a relationship with Tiger but that the media coverage can be intrusive, and asking her if she thinks Tiger is cheating on her is probably the exact type of thing Lindsey was talking about.

Interestingly enough, one gossip report from a month ago claimed Vonn was the one who had been caught cheating on Tiger. Considering they have remained together, we can only assume that report was false. Then again, maybe these two are into some freaky stuff. Who knows?

Tiger Woods, Matt Kuchar bust out ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ handshake (Video)

Tiger-Kuchar-Fresh-PrinceTiger Woods and Matt Kuchar were paired together for the morning four-ball round at The President’s Cup on Thursday. We have grown used to seeing Woods stone-faced and focused in any type of golf setting. Needless to say, a “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” handshake would typically be out of the question for Tiger.

Not at The President’s Cup, it would seem. After Kuchar knocked in a putt to birdie the first hole and give himself and Tiger an early lead, the fellow Americans broke out the high-five that Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff made famous on the 1990′s sitcom. It will be interesting to see if they do it for the remainder of the tournament, as it was obviously rehearsed ahead of time.

Could this be a new Tiger we’re seeing? Naw, he’ll probably be back to swearing up a storm by hole 15.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the original handshake, here it is:

Tiger Woods upset over two-shot penalty at BMW Championship (Video)

Tiger Woods is in the headlines once again for receiving a two-shot penalty on the course, and he is not happy about it.

Woods was hit with a two-stroke penalty in his second round at the BMW Championship on Friday after officials learned that the golfer did not report that his ball moved as he was removing some debris on the first hole.

“Tiger evidently hit it over the green and was moving some loose impediments,” PGA Tour rules official Slugger White said, via Golf Channel. “There was a little stick of some sort … next to his ball, and when he rolled that, the ball in fact moved.

“So in that situation, had he put the ball back it would have been a one‑stroke penalty. He didn’t, so he gets a two‑stroke penalty.”

Tour officials reportedly were notified about the violation while Woods was still competing on the front nine. A videographer who took video that was not shown on TV apparently recorded the moment. Tiger apparently told officials the ball only oscillated and did not move, but he was shown the video that proved otherwise (video seen at the top).

Lindsey Vonn reportedly caught cheating on Tiger Woods

Lindsey Vonn Tiger WoodsMost people who have criticized Lindsey Vonn for dating Tiger Woods do so under the pretense that she will never be able to trust that the World’s No. 1 golfer won’t cheat on her. According to a report from the National Enquirer, Vonn is the one doing the cheating.

Before you go dismissing the story because it appeared in the Enquirer, just remember this is the same publication that broke the Woods sex scandal back in 2009. The report, which was obtained by Radar Online and will hit the shelves on Thursday, claims Vonn was seen making out with someone who was not Woods backstage at a Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z concert in Miami on Aug. 16.

“After the concert was over, Lindsey and a group of female friends, carrying drinks, made their way backstage, and Lindsey spotted a guy she very obviously knew well,” a source reportedly told the Enquirer. “She threw herself into his arms and they started on a long session of deep kissing that went on for several minutes. He was a tall, good-looking man, in his mid-40s, with graying temples. They were really going at it. They were both holding drinks, and Lindsey’s free hand was around his neck, drawing him closer, while his hand was gripping her rear end.”

Yikes. Cue all the “Tiger deserves it” talk, which I guess would be tough to argue.

“Lindsey’s not a nun,” another source told the magazine. “She’s a very physical, very attractive young woman with a very strong athlete’s ego. She wants her own fame – not his. Now it looks like she’s checking out the playing field.”

The last we heard from Lindsey regarding Tiger was when she called him the greatest of all time back on Aug. 4, so we have no way of confirming if the couple was still together as of Aug. 16. It should also be noted that Vonn has indeed expressed frustration with having to live in Tiger’s shadow.

Again, none of this can be confirmed. The only reason we give the Enquirer the benefit of the doubt is because they have earned it when it comes to Woods’ personal life. It will be interesting to see if Vonn is in attendance at the BMW Championship this weekend.

Tiger Woods dealing with stiff neck and back because of hotel beds

Tiger-Woods-The-Medalist-Course-RecordTiger Woods has battled a number of injuries over the past several years. Aside from Tiger, we rarely hear about injuries on the golf course. That could either be a result of very few golfers getting injured or people simply not paying attention to anyone but Woods. In any event, the 37-year-old is dealing with more aches and pains as he prepares for The Barclays.

Woods said he woke up with a sore neck and back on Wednesday and was unable to take a full swing on any of his shots during the Pro-Am tournament at Liberty National. The cause? Those damn soft mattresses they use at hotels.

“I didn’t want to push it, so I just chipped and putted,” Woods said, via the NY Post. “It was fine at home, just hotel beds.”

Most people prefer the comfort of their own bed to a hotel mattress, but doesn’t Tiger have a crew of people who follow him around just to make sure his sleeping conditions are as perfect as possible? I like to think someone who makes $60 million a year has a personal Sleep Number consultant following him around from city to city, but apparently even Tiger has normal people problems.

When asked if he was going to find a new hotel and/or bed, Tiger gave a very Tiger-like answer.

“What do you think?” he asked with a grin.

Maybe my Sleep Number consultant theory will prove true now that Woods has gone public with his complaint. We’ve heard of baseball players injuring themselves while sleeping on the bus or dozing off on the plane, but the old Tiger would have never let any of this happen. Perhaps that’s why he can’t drive the ball in the fairway or show up to play on a weekend at a major. Yes, I’m kidding.

Tiger Woods fakes out autograph-seekers, but for good reason (Video)

Tiger-Woods-autograph-bluffTiger Woods disappointed a group of fans during his practice round at Oak Hill before the PGA Championship on Monday, but he had a legitimate reason for doing so. At first glance, it appears Tiger walked toward a group of fans who were seeking his autograph and played a cruel trick on them. However, he bailed out at the last second for his own safety and that of the fans.

If you look closely, you can see the barrier that was holding the fans back start to collapse. Not only that, but Woods told reporters a small child was nearly crushed by a fence earlier in the day.

“She was just on the ground crying,” Tiger said Tuesday, per Eric Adelson of Yahoo! Sports. “People get so aggressive for autographs. And security is trying to be aggressive to protect the little kids up front. You try and sign, but sometimes the adults start running over the little kids up front, and especially on a fence like that, on a hard fence, it can get dangerous sometimes.”

[Video: Tiger Woods shares touching moment with son after Bridgestone win]

Woods obviously didn’t want to see anyone get hurt, and the last thing he needs is a metal barrier falling on his leg three days before the start of the final major of the season. He probably made a number of fans angry, but it was a wise choice.

Tiger Woods: My son is not going to dress like Rickie Fowler

Rickie-FowlerTiger Woods shared an emotional moment with his son after winning the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday. It showed a side of Tiger, who is one of the more intense golfers to ever play the game, that many of us are not used to seeing.

After the win, reporters asked a number of questions about Tiger’s 4-year-old. Woods was asked if his son has begun playing golf, and he said that he likes to emulate his dad’s swings but that he would never force Charlie to play golf or any sport that he didn’t want to play.

“But it’s like what my dad did, and that’s keep it fun,” Tiger said, via ESPN.com. “Go out there, no lessons, and just have fun. He just emulates what I do. I would go and hit balls and it goes kind of quiet for a while, and then the next thing I know and he’s looking over my shoulder and he’s kind of watching and just kind of eyeing me.”

Tiger will, however, be calling the shots with his children to an extent when it comes to golf attire. When asked if Charlie would ever dress like Rickie Fowler, Woods chuckled and gave the following response.

“My kid is not going to wear a flat bill (cap),” he said.

Doesn’t he want to be a cool dad? Flat brims and orange Pumas are what the kids where these days. Who knows what they’ll be wearing in 15 or so years when Tiger’s son would be entering his golf prime. A flat-billed hat might be the least of his worries by then.
