Colts Punter Pat McAfee Kicks 75-Yard Field Goal (Video)

No way this is real, right? If Colts punter Pat McAfee could nail 75-yard field goals, he’d be their placekicker, right? And if these were real, the ball wouldn’t disappear out of the frame of the camera right? I dunno, you be the judge:

McAfee tweeted with Will Brinson at Eye on Football and says the videos are real, but maybe he’s just protecting his sponsor (Kohl’s). This reminds me a little too much of the Fantasy Files commercials NFL.com released a few years ago. Remember those? Mike Nugent and Neil Rackers were nailing the uprights on demand with kicks from long distance. Those videos were classic. Somehow I think McAfee’s is the same thing, regardless of what he says.

These aren’t fake at all. There are plenty of vids out there of guys kicking 60 to 70 yarders, even in warmups with the tv cameras on. It’s just not a reality in games due to the quicker steps and higher angles needed. But how many times have we seen kickoffs go through the uprights back when the kickoff was on the 35? That’s a 75 yarder right there and it would happen quite a bit.
