Atlanta Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte turned a routine fly ball into an awesome double play Tuesday night by pulling a fast one on a Philadelphia Phillies baserunner.
With one out in the top of the 6th inning, Inciarte camped under a pop fly and pretended like he lost the ball in the lights. The bluff got Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz to venture a bit too far off first base, and Inciarte was able to double him off with a great throw.
We’ve seen more exciting trick plays (like this awesome hidden ball trick), but that was up there with some of the more clever ones.
Atlanta ended up losing the game 3-2. The Inciarte play was one of very few bright spots for the Braves this season, as they are off to a horrendous 7-24 start.
