
Former MLB pitcher Matt Keough has died, the Oakland A’s announced on Saturday.
Keough spent the better part of his career with the A’s from 1977 to 1983. He posted a record of 58-84 with a 4.17 ERA. He made the All-Star team as a rookie in 1978 and was the American League Comeback Player of the Year in 1980.
“Matt was a great baseball man and a proud Oakland A,” executive vice president of baseball operations Billy Beane said in a statement, according to ESPN. “He had an incredible passion for the game and we were lucky to have him and his wealth of knowledge alongside us for the years he worked as a special assistant.”

No cause of death has been revealed.
Keough and his then-wife, Jeana, were featured on the reality TV series “Real Housewives of Orange County.” They were married in 1984 and separated 20 years later, but they continued living together and being featured on the show.
As TMZ notes, Keough had some legal trouble after his playing career. He was arrested for driving while under the influence twice.
