Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux made his major league debut on Monday, and it was evident that the 21-year-old made his parents incredibly proud.
Lux got the start at second base in the Dodgers’ 16-9 win over the Colorado Rockies. His first MLB game couldn’t have gone much better, as he scored three runs and had a pair of hits. His first hit came on the first pitch he saw, and Lux’s parents were shown on TV looking emotional even before the pitch was thrown.

Those were the looks of some very proud parents, and rightfully so. Lux is considered one of the best prospects in baseball. He batted .392 with a 1.197 OPS in Triple-A this season and batted .347 with a 1.031 OPS across two levels in the minors.
Lux is primarily a shortstop, so there had been some question about whether it would make sense to call him up with Corey Seager already having the position locked down. However, the Dodgers have found a spot for Lux due to a key injury, and he could provide an already explosive team with an extra spark down the stretch.
