George Springer makes great catch to rob Jose Abreu of home run (Video)
Jose Abreu came into Thursday’s game against the Astros with six home runs on the season. In the first inning, George Springer made a great catch to keep Abreu from getting his seventh.
Abreu came up to bat with the bases empty and drove the third pitch he saw deep to right field. It looked for all the world like he was going to give Chicago an early lead. Springer had other ideas though, as he raced towards the wall and made a leaping catch to bring the ball back into the yard before crashing to the ground.

That’s a good way to get yourself a spot in SportsCenter’s Top 10.
There isn’t much George Springer can’t do on the baseball field. He can hit for power. He has speed. He has a strong arm, as Billy Butler found out last year. And, as we saw today, Springer is pretty handy with the glove too.
