The San Francisco Giants have a promising rookie catcher in Daniel Susac, who continued his hot start to his big league career on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old Susac had another brilliant performance, as the Giants played the second game of their series against the Philadelphia Phillies at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Cali. He went 3-for-4 with a run and recorded 2 RBIs to help San Francisco eke out a 6-0 victory.
In the same game, Susac became just the first MLB player since 1961 to start a career hitting 5-for-5.

He entered the Phillies game 3-for-3 on the season. He singled to center in his first at-bat of the contest in the second inning and singled again in the fifth inning. Susac’s streak ended with a flyout in the sixth inning, but he got back to it with a 2-run triple in the eighth inning.
All told, Susac is 6-for-7 with 1 run and 1 RBI across his first three games in the majors. He is not going to hit that well all the time, and regression will get to him at some point, but he’s definitely made a mark on the 4-8 Giants, who snapped a four-game losing skid with that win over the Phillies.
