Ex-MLB exec ratio’d on Twitter for criticizing Daniel Hudson over paternity leave
Former Miami Marlins executive David Samson was ratio’d on Twitter after criticizing Washington Nationals reliever Daniel Hudson for missing Game 1 of the NLCS for paternity leave.
Hudson was not with the Nats for Game 1 in St. Louis on Friday night to be with his wife, who was giving birth to the couple’s third child. Samson, who not provides analysis for CBS Sports, called Hudson’s absence “unreal” and “inexcusable.”
Unreal that Daniel Hudson is on paternity list and missing game 1 of #NLCS . Only excuse would be a problem with the birth or health of baby or mother. If all is well, he needs to get to St. Louis. Inexcusable. Will it matter? #waittosee

The Nationals still won the game 2-0, with Sean Doolittle pitching the final four outs for the save.
Samson had some company with his tweet. Radio host Jay Greeson of ESPN 105.1 FM in Tennessee said something similar that Hudson should have been with his team instead of his wife.
Nats closer Daniel Hudson's decision now comes into play. Hudson skipped Game 1 for baby No. 3 and we all hope momma and baby are healthy. But if you're making $5.5 mil a year and your team needs you to close in the NLCS, well, I'd say go get 'em mom and get photos. Thoughts?

All worked out well for the Nats without Hudson, who has picked up a win and two saves in four postseason appearances this year. Nats manager Davey Martinez said after the Game 1 win that he expected to have Hudson back for Game 2.
As for Samson, anyone who has followed his past actions should know this is typical for him.
