Russell Branyan arrested for burglarizing ex-wife’s home

Former Cleveland Indians slugger Russell Branyan was arrested in Nashville, Tenn. Monday night for allegedly breaking into his ex-wife’s home and stealing items from the place.
The warrant for Branyan’s arrest says the former utility man admitted to taking the items from the home on Oct. 30 and that he wanted to return them.
From the warrant:
The defendant made entry into the residence of the victim without having the legal authority. The defendant and victim are divorced and the victim is the legal resident. The defendant entered while the victim was asleep and removed various items from the home. The defendant also tampered with the thermostat inside of the home, making it extremely cold. The defendant acknowledged to the witness that he had removed the items from the residence and now wanted to return them.
Branyan is facing aggravated burglary charges, which is a class C felony in Tennessee. Branyan was also arrested back in 2008 for allegedly assaulting his ex-wife, Jill.
Branyan last played in the bigs in 2011. He hit 194 home runs during his 14-year career.
