One player implicated in Al-Jazeera’s PED report has had the hammer come down on him over PED usage.
Free agent catcher Taylor Teagarden was suspended for 80 games by Major League Baseball on Friday for violating MLB’s drug program.
MLB suspends journeyman Taylor Teagarden for 80 games. Remember, he was the only athlete caught on tape in the Al Jazeera documentary.

What does it mean? Well, Teagarden wasn’t simply accused of wrongdoing. He openly admitted to PED use as part of the Al Jazeera investigation, unlike the others accused. This may simply be a case of MLB taking advantage of the opportunity to punish an admitted on-camera user.
While the Peyton Manning accusations have gotten the most publicity, MLB is also dealing with the fallout of the report. Ryan Zimmerman and Ryan Howard are pretty big names in the sport, and the fact that they were linked raised eyebrows. The two players have denied any wrongdoing and threatened legal action over the report.
