Video of Julio Urias domestic violence incident released
A video has surfaced that shows the incident that led to former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias being arrested last year.
California Highway Patrol released eyewitness footage on Wednesday that shows a man who was identified as Urias assaulting a woman outside of BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. Urias and the woman, who was said to be his girlfriend, had attended the LAFC vs. Inter Miami soccer match.
The video shows Urias run up behind the woman and push her into a fence. Urias was shown getting very physical with the woman and threw swings at one point. You can watch the clip, but beware that some may find it disturbing:

Major League Baseball placed Urias on administrative leave days after his arrest, and he went unsigned after his contract with the Dodgers expired following the 2023 season. The 28-year-old reached a plea deal in the case back in May, but MLB has not yet concluded its investigation.
Urias was also arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery in May 2019. The left-hander was accused of shoving a woman he was with at a mall in Beverly Hills. The woman later told investigators she fell, and the charges were dropped. Urias was still suspended 20 games by MLB under the league’s domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy.
Urias was a key part of the Dodgers’ starting rotation prior to his arrest. He went 60-25 with a 3.11 ERA in 158 appearances with the team over eight seasons. It is unclear if he will get another shot in MLB, but a lengthy suspension seems inevitable.
