Austin Reaves had a message for a fan who was heckling the Los Angeles Lakers while Luka Doncic was hurt on Thursday night.
Doncic suffered a concerning injury during his Lakers’ 139-96 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Thursday night. The Lakers star went down with a hamstring injury in the third quarter and was set to undergo an MRI on Friday.
While Doncic was down on the floor after suffering his injury, a fan heckled Doncic, saying “now you know what it’s like to play defense.”
Reaves heard the taunt and responded.
“Shut the f— up,” Reaves could be heard saying. “Shut up. He’s f—ing hurt.”
The two then traded F-bombs at each other. Reaves even went over to confront the fan, and a video captured their exchange.
Doncic was hurt while making an offensive move. Still, the fan seemed to be taunting the Lakers star over the perception that he does not put in much effort on the defensive end. Doncic also historically has had problems with his hamstrings. He probably appreciates that his teammate had his back.
