DeAndre Jordan, Mavs agree to one-year deal
Three years after the fateful summer of 2015, the Dallas Mavericks have finally gotten their man.
Marc Stein of the New York Times reported on Saturday that DeAndre Jordan and the Mavs have agreed to terms on a one-year contract approaching the $24.1 million he relinquished when he opted out of his LA Clippers deal.

Sources close to DeAndre Jordan say he is eager to join the Mavericks and has made that known to some of his potential new teammates, having declined his $24.1 million option with the Clippers for next season to ensure he had the ability to land in Dallas https://t.co/NGUWhJKKHX

The 29-year-old Jordan, who averaged 12.0 points and 15.2 rebounds a game last season, had been a Clipper for his entire ten-year NBA career, including the circus in 2015 when he verbally agreed to sign with Dallas only to do a dramatic about-face and return to LA. There will (hopefully) be no such shenanigans this time around though, and earlier reports suggested that the Mavs have already long forgiven him for the debacle.
