DeMar DeRozan still upset, motivated by low ranking in SI Top 100

Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan is motivated by the doubters. That’s fair to say.

How motivated? Well, after opening his season with five straight games of 30 points or more, DeRozan couldn’t help but admit that his ranking in the SI Top 100 still bugs him.

As DeRozan was being interviewed about having a new level of confidence, Valanciunas pipes in: "You're still 46th, man." Laughter ensued.

After Valanciunas said 46th, DeRozan admitted it motivated him. JV followed up with: "No. 1 in our hearts."

As a reminder, back in September, 46th is exactly where DeRozan landed in SI’s player rankings. He was not happy about it. You see players say this and talk about using things like this as motivation, but DeRozan seems incredibly dedicated to it – and credit to him, it’s working for him.
