The Dallas Mavericks saw their season end in disappointing fashion when they were blown out by the Oklahoma City Thunder in just five games, but that has not inspired Dirk Nowitzki to change his retirement plans.
Nowitzki, who has already said he is planning to pick up his player option for next season, told reporters on Tuesday that there is no chance he is retiring.
Dirk Nowitzki: "I definitely won't retire. That's out of the question. I felt great this year."

Nowitzki has always planned to play out his current deal, and he said several months ago that he wouldn’t rule out going beyond that. He’ll turn 38 this summer, but Dirk certainly played well enough to justify his spot in the starting lineup this season, averaging 18.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
If you heard the way Nowitzki reacted after one of the Mavericks’ losses to the Thunder, you know he still has plenty of fight left in him.
