Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder has put rookie Grayson Allen on notice.
Snyder said on Tuesday that Allen needs to improve on his transition defense otherwise he won’t play.
Jazz coach Quin Snyder on rookie Grayson Allen's biggest early adjustment: "Right now his biggest adjustment is transition defense so he’s either going to make that adjustment or he’s not going to play. I hope he reads that."

Allen is part of a deep team in Utah. They already have Donovan Mitchell, Ricky Rubio, Dante Exum and Alec Burks at the guard positions, so Allen has plenty of competition for minutes. Still, his offense capabilities are excellent, so the Jazz probably want to see him get playing time.
Emphasizing the importance of transition defense — and doing so in this manner — will likely get the message across to Allen quite clearly.
