Joakim Noah is always an emotional player, but the Chicago Bulls center got his blood boiling much earlier than he typically does on Friday morning. According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Noah got into a heated exchanged with a Washington Wizards security staffer during his game day shootaround.
Noah is typically the last player off the court when the Bulls hold their shootaround. When Wizards security manager Jackie Miles came onto the court to tell the Bulls to wrap things up because the Wizards were about to take the floor, Noah reportedly became angry.
Miles came onto the Verizon Center hardwood and started screaming for Bulls players to exit so the Wizards could start their shootaround. Noah is usually the last Bull off the court in shootarounds, going through his morning routine, and wasn’t having any of it.
Noah told Miles, “Get the [bleep] out of here, I’m not done … get the [bleep] out of here.’’
Miles started firing back with, “Don’t [bleeping] talk to me that way,’’ and then again telling Noah to leave the court.
Cowley said Noah and Miles went back and forth for at least another minute while Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was speaking to reporters just off the court. Miles reportedly did the same thing when the Bulls visited Washington last month, yelling at the players to “get off my court.”
For what it’s worth, Noah didn’t listen. He finished shooting around and did not exit the floor until his routine was complete. We know how particular players can be about what they do on game day. Noah isn’t the most reasonable player in the league, but it sounds like Miles was being a hard ass for no reason.
