Some key Cleveland Cavaliers players are open to a trade for disgruntled Suns forward Markieff Morris, according to a report.
Cleveland.com’s Chris Haynes reported Friday that “influential figures within the Cavs’ locker room” are open to trading for Morris, feeling the team could get the most out of his talent. They’re also intrigued by the prospect of another stretch four to back up Kevin Love.
League sources told Haynes, however, that the front office isn’t really keen on the idea for fear of disrupting team chemistry, and there are doubts they could part with a package good enough to entice Phoenix into moving their unhappy asset.
Morris openly wants out of Phoenix, and he’s causing plenty of trouble as long as the Suns continue to hang onto him. Still, the Cavaliers’ players are willing to sacrifice here, which reflects well on them. Moreover, Cleveland has taken in perceived troublemakers before and had relative success with it. It’s certainly an intriguing possibility if Cleveland changed their mind.
