Lakers get bad injury news on key player who just returned
The Los Angeles Lakers appear to have another Kendrick Nunn situation on their hands.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Saturday that Lakers guard Gabe Vincent is now strongly considering having surgery on his left knee. The procedure would come with a timetable of six-to-eight weeks.
Vincent, 27, just returned to the lineup on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls after missing over one-and-a-half months with his troublesome left knee. He played 14 minutes and scored three points in the 124-108 defeat for the Lakers. Now, Charania adds, Vincent is experiencing swelling in the knee once again.
Overall, the former Miami Heat guard Vincent has given the Lakers nothing since arriving as a free agent this summer. He was given an important role off the bench for the Lakers at the start of the season but has appeared in just five of 29 games thus far (scoring a grand total of 27 points).
Vincent inked a three-year, $33 million contract with the Lakers over the offseason. As such, this whole thing is starting to look eerily similar to what happened with the last ex-Miami guard that the Lakers had in Nunn.
