Nick Young is glad he left Wizards: We were on ‘Not Top 10’ every night

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and former Wizards guard Nick Young has been rescued. Anytime you get an opportunity to go from a 10-34 team to a 26-18 team that features Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, you rejoice. At the moment, nobody wants to play for the Wizards. The Clippers, on the other hand, are one of the most exciting young teams in the league.

“It’s been crazy,” Young said during an interview with Fox Sports Radio’s Petros and Money. “I actually found out from my parents first I think. My mom called me screaming and said it went through and everything. It’s been wild you know?

“I don’t know (what was wrong in Washington). We had a curse on us for some reason. We were on Not Top 10 every night. Every night it was something and we couldn’t break the habit. They drafted me and I’m going to miss those guys on the team.”

Sportscenter only features the Not-So Top 10 on Fridays, but you get the point. As for the problem in Washington, I wouldn’t say “curse” is the right word to use. As John Wall will tell you, the Wizards don’t take the game seriously. When you have guys like JaVale McGee who do things like this and this, it’s easy to see how their season has spiraled out of control. Congratulations to Young.
