Shaun Livingston not planning to retire after being waived by Warriors
Shaun Livingston is being waived by the Golden State Warriors but plans to continue his playing career, according to a report.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Tuesday that Livingston was being waived. Livingston had agreed to move his contract guarantee date back from June 30 to July 10 to allow the Warriors time to examine the market. He is still receiving his $2 million guarantee despite being waived.
Sources: Warriors are waiving guard Shaun Livingston, who is guaranteed $2M of his $7.7M salary for season. Livingston, 33, is determined to continue playing and becomes one more valuable free agent candidate for contenders. He’s won three NBA titles and reached five Finals.

Livingston was not expected to be with the Warriors next season, either because he would retire or be waived. Once the team signed Klay Thompson and D’Angelo Russell to huge contracts, Golden State had to clear salary cap space, which meant trading Andre Iguodala and likely moving on from Livingston.
Livingston, who turns 34 in September, spent the past five seasons with the Warriors. He averaged 4.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game last season.
