Steve Kerr helping to draw up plays for Warriors
Steve Kerr still has not resumed his position as head coach of the Golden State Warriors, but that does not mean he is not helping out his team.
Still out recovering from back surgery over the summer and complications that resulted in a spinal fluid leak, Kerr and the Warriors decided to have Luke Walton coach the team on an interim basis. The results have been fantastic as the Dubs are off to a historic 16-0 start. Even though he has been recovering from his surgery and complications, Kerr is still providing some coaching.
According to the San Jose Mercury News’ Tim Kawakami, Kerr has been drawing up some plays and even installed three for the team’s win over the Lakers on Tuesday. Best part of all? All three plays resulted in buckets for Golden State.
How much is Steve Kerr involved in game planning? Assistant Bruce Fraser said Kerr installed last night's opening play… that morning.

None of this should come as a surprise. Kerr is obviously a strong tactician in addition to being an excellent leader. And the best present of all is that his team has had so much success without him, which means he won’t be pressured to return before his health can handle it. Conversely, he could feel pressure to make sure he doesn’t lose his gig to Walton!
