The Minnesota Timberwolves had a little fun on social media regarding Jimmy Butler’s return to Target Center.
Saturday marked the first time Jimmy Butler returned to Minnesota as an opponent since being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers back in November. Given the anticipation, the Timberwolves’ social media team used to the opportunity to downplay Butler’s return. They instead welcomed back Justin Patton, who also plays for the Sixers and appeared in one game for Minnesota last season. The Sixers, naturally, didn’t find this humorous.

Not surprisingly, Butler was booed during pregame introductions.

The boos were expected, even by Butler who shared his thoughts on what would happen when he returned.
