De’Aaron Fox: Wichita State trash talk ‘lit a fire’ under Kentucky

De'Aaron Fox

You got the sense that after Wichita State talked some trash about Kentucky the day before the teams met in the second round of the NCAA Tournament that there was no way the Wildcats would lose the game. And even though the Shockers put up a good fight, Kentucky prevailed.

After the 65-62 win, Kentucky’s De’Aaron Fox said Wichita State’s pregame trash talk motivated the Wildcats.

Kentucky’s Derek Willis, who had nine points and eight rebounds, had the best response of all.

What makes his response so good? Well, Darral Willis Jr., the guy who did the trash talking, scored just two points in eight minutes for Wichita State. Here are the trash talking comments the Shockers forward made before the game.
