No. 1 center recruit announces his college commitment
Chris Cenac, the No. 1-ranked center for the 2025 recruiting class, on Tuesday announced his college commitment.
Cenac announced that he would be playing for the Houston Cougars. He chose Houston over Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, LSU and Tennessee.
Cenac had taken official recruiting visits to all six of the aforementioned schools. His first visit was to Houston, which is where he eventually committed.
Cenac is listed by 247 Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 center and No. 6 overall recruit for 2025. He averaged 13.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game last year with Newman in New Orleans, La. The 7-footer now plays for Link Academy in Branson, Missouri.
Cenac joins fellow 5-star recruit, Isiah Harwell, and 4-star recruit, Kingston Flemings, in Houston’s star-studded 2025 recruiting class.
Houston is in its 11th season under coach Kelvin Sampson. The Cougars have won at least 30 games in each of the last three seasons and made the Final Four in 2021.
