Tar Heels honor Stuart Scott with patch on uniforms
The sports world received devastating news Sunday morning that the immensely popular Stuart Scott lost his battle with cancer at the age of 49. On Monday, Scott’s Alma mater honored him prior to and during their basketball game against Notre Dame.
When the North Carolina Tar Heels took the floor at the Dean Smith Center, they did so wearing uniforms with the above pictured “STU” patch on the front. There was also a moment of silence prior to the game when fans held up “STU” signs.
Rich Eisen, Scott’s former colleague at ESPN, paid a fitting tribute to his friend by using some of well-known catchphrases while delivering highlights Sunday on NFL Network, which is a must watch for those who remember the charisma and flair with which Stuart Scott delivered them.
