Alabama’s Ryan Williams reacts to his game-winning play vs. Georgia
Ryan Williams isn’t even old enough to vote yet. But the 17-year-old already has an all-time highlight Alabama fans won’t soon forget.
The freshman wide receiver saved Alabama from an embarrassing collapse Saturday night against Georgia at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Alabama blew a four-score lead and trailed Georgia 34-33 in the closing minutes of the contest. But just one play later, Williams made a stellar catch and ran the length of the field to snatch the lead right back with a 75-yard touchdown.

Williams used a timely spin move that left two Georgia defenders off balance. After the game, reporters asked the Alabama freshman about the play. While it looked lightning-quick to fans watching from home, Williams said he saw it all happen in slow motion.
“I was like ‘I can’t get tackled,’ so I did a spin move,” said Williams. “It was like slow motion. … I’ve seen a little bit of it on the jumbotron and it looked a little faster. But I swear when I was doing it, it felt like it was in slow motion.”

Williams finished with 6 catches for 177 yards with 1 touchdown. But his gaudy yardage total doesn’t do justice for just how impactful Williams was against Georgia.
At just 17 years old, Williams has led Alabama in receiving yards in each of his first four college football games. The wide receivers came out to shine on Saturday. Williams wasn’t the only five-star wideout who was making unbelievable catches for his powerhouse team.
