Baker Mayfield sent a farewell message to Oklahoma Sooners fans after the team’s season came to an end on Monday night.
Mayfield, who won the Heisman Trophy this season, shared this thank you note to Sooner Nation via Twitter.
Thank you Sooner Nation. Thank you for giving me never ending support. I hope you know I gave it everything I had. It has been and unbelievable ride and I'm so glad we enjoyed it together. I love y'all. God Bless and Boomer. -Bake

Mayfield’s Sooners came out on fire to start their playoff game against Georgia at the Rose Bowl. But they sputtered in the second half before rallying to send the game to overtime, where they lost in double OT.
A senior from Austin, Mayfield transferred to Oklahoma from Texas Tech. He ended up passing for over 12,000 yards and nearly 120 touchdowns during his Oklahoma career. The team went 34-6 in his three seasons and reached the College Football Playoff. Mayfield will go down as one of the best players in Oklahoma history.
