A tweet sent out on Saturday night saying Charlie Strong had been fired resulted in lots of speculation and questioning on social media, but the tweet proved to be inaccurate.
The tweet came from a source that has no ties to the Longhorns program and with no record of breaking news concerning the team.

Multiple reporters confirmed that the report was inaccurate.
Instead, most say Strong will coach Texas in its next game Friday against TCU but is likely to be fired after the season.
Although it will not happen tonight, I've been told by two high-level Texas sources that Charlie Strong will be replaced as HC.

The word since earlier in the season was that even if Texas planned to fire Strong, they wouldn’t make the move until after the season.
Texas is currently 5-6 and looking at its third straight losing season — all since Strong took over the program.
