Report: Fired Kansas coach David Beaty helping Texas prep for Oklahoma
The Texas Longhorns are turning to a surprising person for help as they prepare for the Big 12 Championship Game.
Texas will face Oklahoma on Saturday in Arlington for a rematch of the Red River Rivalry Game, which was won by Texas 48-45 on Oct. 6. To help prepare for the game, the Longhorns will be visited by former Kansas coach David Beaty, according to OrangeBloods’ Anwar Richardson.

Beaty may have been fired by Kansas for only winning six games over four seasons, but the Jayhawks have played Texas tough three years in a row and beat them in 2016. Not only might Beaty be able to help point out flaws and tendencies for the Longhorns, but he might also help with scouting Oklahoma. His Kansas team scored 40 points on Oklahoma two weeks ago.
Not only is it important to scout your opponent, but it’s equally important to scout yourself and know your weaknesses to prevent them from being exploited.
