Twitter reacts after Texas freshman kicker nails game-winner against Oklahoma

A Texas freshman kicker made the memory of a lifetime on Saturday with a dramatic game-winning kick in the Red River Shootout.

Longhorn freshman Cameron Dicker drilled a 40-yard field goal with nine seconds to go to give Texas a massive 48-45 victory over rivals Oklahoma, with ice water in his veins.

Anyone who knows college kickers is well aware that any moment like this one is a risk, especially from 40 yards with a true freshman doing the kicking. Dicker, however, showed no sign of nerves whatsoever as he drilled the game-winner.

Twitter certainly took note, especially with how big the win was for Texas, who had been up by three touchdowns before nearly seeing it all slip away.

I'm thinking Cameron Dicker is going to have a VERY good Saturday night. Understatement of the year.

You guys Cameron Dicker just gained like 200 followers on Instagram in last few minutes. #OUvsTexas

Imagine being Cameron Dicker right now. Guy isn’t legally allowed to drink yet and will never have to pay for a beer in the state of Texas ever.

I can say with confidence Cameron Dicker is invited to my family’s Thanksgiving and Christmas into perpetuity. Now the #Cats need to stomp those aggies!!! #HookEm #GoCats

The Longhorns took advantage of some sloppy play by Oklahoma and a huge five-touchdown day from quarterback Sam Ehlinger to get their program’s biggest win in a decade, but Dicker will get a share of the headlines, too.
