Show Me Your TDs! Fantasy Football Most Popular Team Names

The two best parts of fantasy football are the draft, and picking your team’s name. I generally put about 99.95% of my effort into the former and leave about 0.05% of my effort into the latter. The result is a lame ass team name like “No Name Heroes” in the Yahoo! league in which I’m participating. I know, my creativity sucks. Anyway, in case you’re thinking of changing your team’s name or in case you’re wondering what the most popular fantasy football team names are, CBSSports.com has released its list of the 200 most popular names.

A few notes on the list: Bulldogs was number two on the list for some reason, Cowboys was the most popular team, and Chad Johnson’s “Child Please” went from unranked to 31st.
Here’s the Top 10:

#1 Mean Machine
#2 Bulldogs
#3 Cowboys
#4 Da’ Bears
#5 Steel Curtain
#6 Shockers
#7 Warriors
#8 G-Men
#9 Raiders
#10 :-)

A few thoughts: why do people use NFL team nicknames in their fantasy name? I’ve never understood that. I’m pretty uncreative, but at least I can invent my own (Mini Camp Holdouts used to be my standard name). Also, here were some of my favorites from the Top 200: #15 Show Me Your TDs, #23 Prestige Worldwide, #77 Badnewz Kennels (never gets old), and #156 Fat Bastards.
