Brock Osweiler: Leaving Broncos was ‘hardest decision of my life’
Brock Osweiler made a controversial choice to sign with the Houston Texans over the offseason instead of remain with the Denver Broncos, with whom he won a Super Bowl last season. Now he says choosing to leave Denver for Houston was the “hardest decision” of his life.
Here’s what Osweiler had to say on Thursday during a conference call with reporters ahead of Monday’s game against his former team.
Brock Osweiler: "I can completely understand why everybody was extremely surprised and shocked." Said he did what's best for fam & himself.

Brock Osweiler said being benched v. SD had nothing to do with his decision. He said system did and Denver had a long time to send an offer.

Ultimately, the Texans offered Osweiler more money than the Broncos were willing to pay him, so in a financial sense, he did do what was best for himself and his family. Houston gave him $72 million over four years.
Osweiler has completed 59 percent of his passes this season for 1,402 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. His Texans are 4-2, just as are the Broncos under new QB Trevor Siemian.
