Cam Newton wasn’t about to let Kelvin Benjamin’s critical comments about him slide.
Prior to Thursday night’s preseason game between Newton’s Carolina Panthers and Benjamin’s Buffalo Bills, Cam went over to speak with Benjamin. Though there is no audio on the video shared by The Charlotte Observer, the body language seems to show that Benjamin was doing his best to avoid the conversation.

Benjamin was a first-round pick by the Panthers in 2014 and played in 40 career games with them, catching 184 passes for 2,424 yards and 19 touchdowns. Benjamin was traded to Buffalo during the season last year.
Though Benjamin was a good player in Carolina, some felt he could have done even better with them. In a recent interview with The Athletic, Benjamin said that he felt Carolina was a bad fit for him and that playing with a different quarterback would have been better for his career. Newton seemed to respond to Benjamin via Instagram.
Cam’s actions on Thursday made it clear that he heard about Benjamin’s remarks and he wanted to address them.
