Cam Ward is widely considered the favorite to be taken first overall in the upcoming NFL Draft, but the Tennessee Titans are not the only team showing significant interest in the former Miami star quarterback
The Cleveland Browns hosted Ward for a private meeting on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. Ward worked out for the team and met with owner Jimmy Haslam, head coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry, among others.
The meeting came two days after Ward worked out for executives, coaches and scouts at Miami’s pro day.

It is hardly a surprise that the Browns are doing their homework, but the meeting likely indicates that their interest in Ward is legitimate. The question is whether they are preparing for the possibility of the Titans passing on Ward or thinking about trading up a spot.
The Titans have the first overall pick, followed by the Browns. Unless something changes, all signs point to Ward being the first quarterback taken, not Shedeur Sanders. Tennessee needs a quarterback and sent a huge contingent to Miami’s pro day. The Titans seem like they are prepared to draft Ward, but there is always a chance of the Browns or another team blowing them away with an offer.
Will Levis struggled in his second season last year. The Titans do not appear to have much faith in him. That does not necessarily mean they view Ward as a franchise cornerstone, but operating as if they do puts them in the best position of strength.
