Darrelle Revis says Richard Sherman is running his mouth like a girl
Darrelle Revis finally responded to Richard Sherman by calling out the boastful cornerback over Twitter Wednesday.
Sherman developed a reputation last season as a big smack talker. He got into it with Tom Brady, Calvin Johnson, and both teams he faced in the playoffs. The Seattle Seahawks cornerback even seemed to suggest last month that he is better than Revis, whom many consider to be the best cornerback in the NFL.
Revis has heard enough junk coming out of Sherman’s mouth and finally called him out for it:
I never seen a man before run his mouth so much like girl. This dude just steady putting my name in his mouth to get notoriety @rsherman_25

Revis then seemed to say he was in a different class from Sherman, who should worry about Atlanta Falcons receiver Roddy White:
@rsherman_25 I ain’t your competition bro, @roddywhitetv is!!!

Revis even tried putting down Sherman by doing a Twitter follower comparison:
My boy @johngeiger_ got more followers then @rsherman_25. Sit down young pup & wait your turn.

Revis brought up White because the Falcons receiver burned Sherman for a touchdown during the playoffs last month. Despite that fact, Sherman still called White “an easy matchup” during an NFL Network interview last week.
Sherman, of course, responded via Twitter.
@revis24 don’t need ya name… Ur name will be irrelevant once u step back on the field bruh.Get ya picks up!

@revis24 one season u will get 8 picks…. But it won’t happen anytime soon… I did it in my 2nd season… So u have something to chase

For the QB not throwing his way argument.In his 2nd year they were throwing his way.I still doubled his picks

Revis must have been iritated by Sherman, because he fired back with a response:
That’s like you saying your better then Deion Sanders & since he’s not playing no more he’s irrelevant for what he’s done. @rsherman_25

Revis is recovering from a torn ACL suffered last season and has been mentioned in trade talks, which has had him grumpy and could explain why he finally responded to Sherman. Sherman is citing statistics in his argument for why he’s better than Revis. Yes, Sherman had a good season, but the statistics he mentioned are not necessarily the best measure of greatness for a cornerback. In order to measure greatness for a cornerback, you have to look at stats like these.
Sherman will have to put together several seasons in a row of shutdown corner-quality before he can be considered in the same class as Revis.
