Report: Giants among several teams interested in Aldon Smith
The New York Giants could be in serious need of defensive line help if Jason Pierre-Paul is out to begin the regular season. As it turns out, one of the best pass rushers in the game recently hit the free agent market.
But is he worth the risk?
Jordan Schultz of The Huffington Post reports that the Giants are among “several teams” interested in former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith.
There is interest in Aldon Smith from several NFL teams, notably NY Giants. But what's really important is a life spiraling out of control.

Giants in desperate need of a pass rusher, given JPP is out. Defense needs someone to really set the edge. Aldon Smith does precisely that.

Of course, Smith was recently arrested once again and is potentially facing several charges. The 25-year-old has been in trouble with the law on numerous occasions, and at least one NFL general manager does not believe he will be signed in 2015.
Smith was suspended for the first nine games of the 2014 season as a repeat offender of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. The latest incident would, in theory, make him a three-peat offender, meaning it’s possible he could be suspended for almost the entire upcoming season.
