Report: Iowa State’s Matt Campbell declines interest from Jets
It’s not often that an NFL head coaching target turns down an interview opportunity, but the New York Jets have run into that situation.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Jets reached out to interview Iowa State coach Matt Campbell, but he has informed them that he is not interested in talking to them about their head coaching vacancy.
Iowa State coach Matt Campbell did receive a request from the #Jets, source said. But at this point, he’s declining this one.

Campbell has been steadfast in his desire to remain with Iowa State, spurning other college coaching opportunities as well. It’s not clear whether it’s just the Jets job he’s not interested in, but there isn’t really any indications that he’s eyeing the NFL despite some interest. Count on him to remain at Iowa State in 2019.
