Joe Flacco: Ravens’ offense has been ’embarrassing’
The Baltimore Ravens were held to just 10 points in a home loss to Washington on Sunday, and that poor performance has Joe Flacco embarrassed.
The Ravens QB was 30 of 46 for 210 yards and a touchdown pass, while the team rushed for 118 yards. But they only generated the 10 points, and that’s simply not good enough.
“It’s embarrassing to run off the field in front of your home fans, in front of your teammates. Our defense is putting up awesome fights every week, and we’re just running off the field, basically. So, it doesn’t feel good as the quarterback, as the leader of the offense, to continue to do that,” Flacco said after the game via CSN Mid Atlantic.
Flacco still will maintain a positive attitude despite the struggles.
“I’m going to stand tall. I’m going to take it. It definitely is not fun.”
Baltimore is now 3-2 and has lost consecutive games since its 3-0 start. But like Flacco said, it’s been the defense that’s carried the team. The Ravens have produced less than 20 points in three of their games, which just isn’t good enough.
Entering Sunday’s game, Baltimore’s defense was seventh in the league in points allowed and first in yards allowed. The offense was 18th and 19th in the league in points and yards. If they could pick it up on that end, they will likely be a playoff team.
