Joe Haden reportedly turned down larger offers to sign with Steelers

Joe Haden

Joe Haden apparently wanted to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers pretty badly.

Haden reportedly agreed to sign a 3-year deal with the Steelers worth $27 million, including $7 million in guarantees, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter also says that Haden had larger offers from other teams but turned them down because he wanted to play in Pittsburgh.

Haden was a first-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2010 and has never experienced a winning season. In fact, the most the Browns ever won during his career was seven games in a year. Last year they went 1-15.

Contrarily, Haden has seen what the Steelers organization can do up-close as he’s faced them twice a year since he’s been in the NFL. Going to play for last year’s AFC North champions makes a lot of sense for the cornerback, who was released by Cleveland Wednesday.
