The Detroit Lions on Sunday are hosting their second postseason game of the season — and of the last 30 years. It’s no surprise that ticket prices for the contest are skyrocketing to unprecedented heights.

The average ticket price to watch the Lions host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. is nearly $1,200. That price tag would be the highest for any Divisional Round contest in NFL history.

The exorbitant cost of a Lions-Bucs ticket makes complete sense given the decades-long wait fans have had to endure in between home playoff games. The price of a ticket to the Lions-Rams matchup last Sunday at Ford Field was already by far the highest among the six games played during Wild Card Weekend.

One ticket to the Lions-Bucs game is nearly the equivalent of watching the 21 remaining home games of the Detroit Pistons. You’ll even have some money to spare for popcorn and soda.

Spend just $610 and you can catch every remaining Detroit Pistons home game this season

In contrast, the get-in price for the Lions Divisional Round game is $728 😳

The last time the Lions advanced in the playoffs was all the way back in 1992. Detroit demolished the Dallas Cowboys 38-6 before losing to the eventual-champion Washington Redskins.
